Big Sur Foragers Festival

The Big Sur Foragers Festival, a fundraiser for the nonprofit Big Sur Health Center, takes place this year in two parts. Due to wildfires and pandemic constraints, the Festival is virtual and in person.

The virtual experience allows a renowned chef to forage the pristine Big Sur area for mushrooms, which are sent out to attendees a few days before the event. Attendees can pair the mushrooms with a wine and cheese selection and enjoy preparing them with the chef.

In-person guided foraging forays are scheduled at Big Sur River Inn & Restaurant. The Festival benefits the Big Sur Health Center.

The 24th annual Mushroom Festival and Car Show will be held at Mansfield Village in April. Over the course of the weekend, there is a live mushroom auction, a contest, live music, a car display, and delicious food!

Discover all that Mansfield Village has to offer, including your favorite restaurants like the Bar and Grill, Our Back Porch, Country Store Chicken & Noodles, and Sati Babi, as well as dozens of vendors. The historic Mansfield Village Roller Mill will be open for FREE tours courtesy of the Department of Natural Resources.

Mountain Mushroom Festival

The Mountain Mushroom Festival celebrates Appalachian culture with the morel mushroom and KY agate (state rock of Kentucky), Daniel Boone National Forest, the Kentucky River, mountains, and handicrafts. The Festival includes agate hunts, a 5k run, mushroom cooking demonstrations, mushroom hunting contests, live performances including cloggers, and a parade.

The Mushroom and Wine Festival was established as a result of the profusion of wild mushrooms in the woodland region next to the Purgatory Resort. It now ranks among the most well-known summer activities in Durango.

The main focus of this festival is to highlight mushrooms and wine pairings through the culinary talent of some of Durango’s best restaurants. The two-day event will be broken up into halves, and tickets can be purchased separately for each segment. The annual festival will take place in the Purgatory Resort in Durango on Friday, August 19, and Saturday, August 20, 2022.
